Improvement of the road sections from Bibile to Chenkalady and Padiyathalawa to Tampitiya

The Saudi Fund has provided loan facilities for the rehabilitation and improvement of the road section from Bibile to Chenkalady, 86.75km in length. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Kabir Hashim, the Minister of Highways & Road Development to award the following 02 contract packages under the project, to M/s Consulting Engineers & Contractors (Pvt.) Ltd., as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.

* Rehabilitation and Improvement of the Bibile to Padiyathalawa road section, 29 km in length, for a sum of Rs.2,389.07 million.

* Rehabilitation and Improvement of the Padiyathalawa to Tampitiya road section, 30 km in length, for a sum of Rs.2,295.63 million.
