Award of contract for the consultancy services for the implementation of the projects in the Uva Province under the Second Integrated Roads Investment Programme

The Asian Development Bank has expressed its willingness to provide a sum of US$ 900 million as funds for the implementation of the Second Integrated Roads Investment Programme and the Cabinet has granted approval to implement the said programme in the Northern, Eastern, Uva and Western Provinces. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Kabir Hashim, the Minister of Highways & Road Development, to award the contract for consultancy services for the implementation of the projects in the Uva Province inclusive of the construction monitoring and contract management to the joint venture of M/s Pyunghwa Engineering Consultants Institute in Korea and M/s Consulting Engineers and Architects Associated (Pvt.) Company, for a sum of Rs.1,154.8 million, as recommended by the Cabinet Appointed Consultancy Procurement Committee (CACPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
