Purchase of 160 Passenger Coaches

- The proposal made by Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva, the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, to award the contract for the purchase of 160 Passenger Coaches, under the Indian Line of Credit, with the objective of further improving the passenger services provided by the Sri Lanka Railways, to M/s RITES Ltd., for a sum of US$ 82.63 million, as recommended by the Cabinet Appointed Negotiation Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
