Sri Lanka's accession to the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti personnel Mines and on their Destruction: (APMBC) Ottawa Convention

- The Cabinet has granted approval for Sri Lanka to accede to the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, stockpiling, production and transfer of Antipersonnel Mines and on their Destruction: (APMBC) Ottawa Convention. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Mrs.) Thalatha Atukorala, the Minister of Justice & Prison Reforms, to instruct the Legal Draftsman to draft enabling legislation to give effect to the provisions of the APMBC, was approved by the Cabinet.
