Procurement of Fertilizer to be distributed under the Fertilizer Subsidy of the Government - 2018 June

Chemical Fertilizer is imported by the Ceylon Fertilizer Company Ltd. and the Colombo Commercial Fertilizers Ltd., to be supplied to the farmers. With a view to distributing the required fertilizer in the month of June 2018 under this programme, the proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, the Minister of Agriculture, to purchase 6,000 MT of Muriate of Potash at US$ 311.74 per 01 MT from M/s Valency International Trading (Pvt.) Ltd. of Singapore, and 18,000 MT of Urea at US$ 280.90 per 01 MT from M/s Agri Commodities & Finance FZE of Abu Dhabi, as recommended by the Procurement Appeal Board (PAB), was approved by the Cabinet.
