Training of Unemployed Graduates on Staggered Basis

- Considering the need to provide employment for unemployed Graduates, measures will be taken to call for all unemployed graduates under 45 years of age who have submitted their applicaions, for an interview. It has been planned to recruit 5,000 graduates in July 2018 and 15,000 in September 2018 for training. During the training period, they will be provided with a monthly allowance of Rs.20,000/-. It has also been planned to train the rest of the graduates in the year 2019 on staggered basis.

As such, the proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to implement the programme for training of unemployed graduates and recruit the graduates who will fulfill the qualifications in terms of the Service Minute of the Development Officers, to fill the vacancies of the post of Development Officer, out of those who complete the training, was approved by the Cabinet.
