Revision of bus fares in keeping with the increase in fuel prices

- Requests have been made by the Bus Associations for the revision of bus fares in keeping with the fuel price increase effective from 2018-05-11. The Official Committee working on the revision of the bus fair policy considering the recommendations made by the National Transport Commission and also that bus fairs are revised in the month of July every year, has made its recommendations as to the manner in which the bus fairs should be revised.

Accordingly, the Cabinet granted approval to increase the bus fairs by 6.56% with the minimum charge being Rs.10/- effective from 2018‑05‑16.
