Construction of Pulathisi Market Complex and Agro-Economic Centre at Kaduruwela, Polonnaruwa

- A proposal has been made to construct a market complex consisting of 58 sales outlets in an area spread over 8 acres under the 'Pibidemu Polonnaruwa' National Programme by the year 2019 to provide facilities for the farmers in Polonnaruwa to sell their agricultural products and to provide facilities for the people of the area to buy such products.

Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment, to award the contract for the construction of this market complex with an agro- economic centre, food court, children's park, a vehicle park and other common amenities as well to the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau, for a sum of Rs.623.2 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
