Hosting of the 5th International Conference of the International Association of Theravada Buddhist Universities (IATBU)

- The International Association of Theravada Buddhist Universities (IATBU) implemented globally for the enhancement of the Buddhist education, has become a global network that coordinates the higher educational institutions which provides the student community in understanding and following Buddhism documented in Pali Texts. Its 5th international conference has been scheduled to be held on the three days of 27th 28th and 29th of November 2018 centering Colombo and Anuradhapura.

As such, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, the Minister of Higher Education & Cultural Affairs, to host this conference in Sri Lanka under the patronage of the Sri Lanka Buddhist and Pali University in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Bhiksu University, was approved by the Cabinet.
