Establishment of the Amaradeva Aesthetic and Research Centre

- The Cabinet has granted approval to establish an institute by the name of 'Amaradeva Aesthetic and Research Centre' by an Act of Parliament, to preserve the musical culture introduced by the late Dr. Pandith W.D. Amaradeva known as the legendary music icon of Sri Lanka for the future generations, treating same as national heritage in gratitude to him. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, the Minister of Finance and Mass Media, to publish the draft Bill of the Amaradeva Aesthetic and Research Centre prepared by the Legal Draftsman, in the Government Gazette and subsequently, present it in Parliament, was approved by the Cabinet.
