Purchasing of drugs required for the treatment of diabetic patients

The proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to award the contract for the supply of 1,350,000 vials of Biphasic Isophane Insulin injections, a medicine used for treating the diabetes patients, to M/s Novo Nordisk A/S, Denmark, for a sum of US$ 2.55 million, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
