Strengthening of the National Equipment and Machinery Organization

The National Equipment and Machinery Organization was established in the year 1992 as a remedial measure taken to address the dearth that existed in machineries required for the construction sector to implement the regional development projects expeditiously. Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. Sajith Premadasa, the Minister of Housing and Construction, to obtain a loan facility on a Treasury Guarantee, in order to secure the working capital required to expand the entrepreneurial affairs of the Organization, was approved by the Cabinet.
