Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2018-04-10

Granting relief to the affected persons due to the civil unrest occurred in the first week of March in Teldeniya, Digana and the suburban areas in the Kandy District

- The proposal made by Hon. D.M. Swaminathan, the Minister of Prison Reforms, Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs, to grant a compensation of Rs.500,00/- for each of the next- of-kin in respect of the three persons deceased and a compensation subject to a maximum of Rs.250,000/-for each injured person, in the civil unrest that occurred in the first week of March 2018, in Teldeniya, Digana and suburban areas in the Kandy District, depending on the medical reports, was approved by the Cabinet.
