Popularizing the Sustainable Development Goals
- In the year 2015, Sri Lanka has committed to implementing the United Nations Agenda 2030 designed to achieve Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. In this connection, the Sri Lanka Sustainable Development Act, No.19 of 2017 comprising of the relevant provisions is in force with effect from 2017‑10‑03. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ravindra Samaraweera, the Minister of Sustainable Development and Wildlife, to request all State Institutions to incorporate the National Strategies to be adopted by State Institutions in their institutional plans in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, was approved by the Cabinet.
