Enforcement of the law against those who disseminate false information and publish defamative statements

- The Cabinet decided to intimate to the Institutions such as, the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media, Law & Order and Telecommunication, Digital Infrastructure and Foreign Employment and Telecommunication Regulatory Commission to make recommendations to the Cabinet regarding the measures that could be taken within the existing legal framework against the persons utilizing the Social Media networks, various websites including electronic media and electronic & print media who disseminate false information and publish defamative statements.
