Implementation of the Small Scale Infrastructure Development Projects at Local Level

In accordance with the Local Government Elections held under the new Electoral System there is an elected representative for each ward of a Local Authority and therefore, it is important to provide him / her also as representatives with an opportunity to take part in the identification of the infrastructural needs of the respective ward. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Faiszer Musthapha, the Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government, to develop an appropriate mechanism to avoid issues that would crop up in the implementation and duplication of work, giving priority to the proposals so identified, was approved by the Cabinet
