Granting loans at concessional interest rate for the damaged businesses due to conflicts in the Kandy District

- It has been proposed to provide relief to rebuild the damaged businesses in the Kandy Administrative District which occurred due to the conflicts that took place in the first week of March 2018. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Minister of Public Enterprise and Kandy Development, to grant loans at 2% concessionary interest rate under the 'Athwela Loan Scheme' to re-build such damaged businesses in the Kandy District, subject to the relevant terms and conditions, was approved by the Cabinet.
