Introduction of a Management Information System for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Sector

- Seven Institutions which provide Vocational Training and Technical Education are implemented under the Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training and the Tertiary and Vocational Educational Commission ensures the standard of the syllabuses of the Institutions. It has been proposed to introduce a modern information management system for the institutions, with a view to ensuring an effective coordination among the said institutions and the training institutions of the private sector and to introduce training programmes to address the present day needs. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Chandima Weerakkody, the Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training, to commence the said activity in the year 2018 and to implement it expeditiously, was approved by the Cabinet.
