Mullaitivu Water Supply Scheme

- The Mullaitivu Water Supply Scheme has been designed covering 09 Grama Niladhari Divisions of the Maritimepattu Divisional Secretariat Division in the Mullaitivu District with the objective of providing safe drinking water for around a population of 7,430 living in the town of Mullaitivu and the suburban areas (around 1,500 families). Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of City Planning and Water Supply, to award the contract for the construction of the Mullaitivu Water Supply Scheme to the Joint Venture of M/s Ceylex Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd. and Prathibha Industries Ltd., India, for a sum of Rs.894.74 million, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
