Lease of 2 land lots in the Muthurajawela sand filled area for the Logistics related activities

- The Muthurajawela area in Wattala has been identified as a part of the Logistics Zone being constructed under the Megapolis Plan of the Western Province. The land in extent of 400 acres developed in the area by the Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation (SLLR&DC) through sand nourishment, has been alienated for various projects.

Applications have been called by way of publishing paper advertisements to lease out two remaining land lots for logistic purposes. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development, to lease out the said two land lots to John Keells Logistics (Pvt.) Ltd., the highest bidder for the purpose, for a period of 30 years, was approved by the Cabinet.
