Construction of the Polptitya - Hambantota 220 kV Transmission Line

- The proposal made by Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, to award the contract for the construction of the 220kv transmission line at a length of 150 km from Polpitiya to Hambantota, which is implemented under the Green Power Development and Energy Efficiency Improvement Investment Programme, to M/s China National Cable Engineering Corporation, for a sum of Rs.5,794.32 million, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
