Obtaining office space for the office of the Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine

- Due to the limited space available in the building where the Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine is located, a section of the National Medicinal Regulatory Authority (NMRA), Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Prevention Programme and Investigations, Procurement, Internal Audit and Indigenous Medicine Units, under the purview of the Ministry are located in a building obtained on lease rental basis. The validity of the relevant lease agreement is due to expire shortly and as such, until the construction of a new building is completed, it has become necessary to further obtain office space on lease rental basis.

Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to obtain the building belonging to the Medi House (Pvt.) Ltd. with a floor space of 55,0000 sq.ft. situated at No.26, of Sri Sangharaja Mawatha in Colombo 10, on a monthly rental of Rs.9.07 million, for a period of two (02) years , as recommended by the Procurement Committee of the Ministry, was approved by the Cabinet.
