Purchasing of Anti-biotics required for the treatment of infections

- The proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to award the contract for purchasing 750,000 Vials of Meropenem Injection 1g Vial which is an anti-biotic used for treating severe infections, to M/s Scott Edil-Advance Research Laboratories & Education Ltd. of India, for a sum of US$ 1.08 million, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
