The construction of a Stroke Treatment Unit at the Teaching Hospital in Jaffna
- The Stroke is the fourth major cause for deaths in the hospitals of Sri Lanka. As such, action is being taken by the Government to establish state-of- the art treatment facilities for Stroke in all major hospitals of the Island. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to award the contract for the construction of a Stroke Treatment Unit at the Teaching Hospital in Jaffna to M/s Link Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd. for a sum of Rs.633.97 million, in accordance with the recommendation of the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
