Awarding of the relevant contracts for the Development of the infrastructure facilities at the Universities

- The proposal made by Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Minister of Higher Education and Highways, to award the following contracts for the development of the infrastructure facilities in the University of Colombo, the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka and the Trincomalee Campus of the Eastern University, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet:

(i) awarding of the contract for the construction of a Student Service Centre for the Faculty of Science of the University of Colombo, for a sum of Rs.381.49 million, to the State Engineering Corporation of Sri Lanka;

(ii) awarding of the contract for the construction of a language skills development centre and an examination hall in the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka, for a sum of Rs.215.42 million, to M/s Central Engineering Services (Pvt.) Ltd.;

(iii) awarding of the contract for the construction of a multi purpose auditorium for the Trincomalee Campus of the Eastern University, for a sum of Rs.674.47 million, to M/s Link Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd.;

(iv) awarding of the contract for the construction of a building complex for the Faculty of Communication and Business Studies of the Eastern University, for a sum of Rs.701.18 million, to M/s Edward and Christie (Pvt.) Ltd.
