Establishment of the South Asian Regional Intelligence and the Coordination Centre on Organized Crimes

- It has been proposed to establish the South Asian Regional Intelligence and the Coordination Centre (SARICC) in Sri Lanka to coordinate and to exchange intelligence information among the countries in the region, with a view to eliminating organized crimes and the drug menace in the South Asian Region. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Sagala Ratnayake, the Minister of Law & Order and Southern Development, to establish the said centre in Sri Lanka and to accommodate it temporarily in the premises of the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board, was approved by the Cabinet.
