Augmentation of the Water Pipelines along with the Orugodawatta - Ambatale Road Development Project

- The activities pertaining to the widening of the Orugodawatta - Ambatale Road have commenced presently. Since the main water transmission line to the Colombo City which is more than hundred years old is also laid along the said Road, the re‑laying of the water pipe line network also has to be commenced to coincide with the said Road Development Work.

Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to enter into loan agreements with the UniCredit Bank Austria AG and the People's Bank as per the approval granted by the Cabinet, with the objective of securing the funds necessary to implement the water pipe laying project expeditiously, was approved by the Cabinet.
