Amending the National Defence Fund Act

- The Cabinet approval has been granted to amend the National Defence Fund Act, No.9 of 1985 by which the National Defence Fund has been established with a view to further expanding the services rendered by such fund for the welfare of the families of the War-heroes who have died or become disabled, and streamlining its administrative functions. As such, the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Minister of Defence, to publish the amended Bill so formulated in the Government Gazette and subsequently, to present it in Parliament, for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
