Amendments to the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA) Act, No.9 of 1982

- The functions and the administrative setup of the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration - SLIDA, the pioneer public sector training institute of Sri Lanka has been subject to changes during the last few years. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ranjith Madduma Bandara, the Minister of Public Administration and Management, to instruct the Legal Draftsman to amend the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration Act, No.9 of 1982 concurrently, with the inclusion of the following amendments, to effect the changes, was approved by the Cabinet.

* amendments to the organizational structure, objectives and functions and authorities, of the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration to suit the the present status and the requirements;

* inclusion of new provisions in the Act to reflect the functions and the authorities of the School of Postgraduate Studies of the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration;

* In accordance with the Cabinet approval already granted, the inclusion of new provisions in the Act to reflect the functions and the authorities of the Examination Unit of the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration.
