Active Liability Management Draft Bill

- The maintenance of Public Debt of Sri Lanka on a sustainable level has received focus at national level. Appropriate systems of reforms have to be adopted to prevent any risk that may occur in this regard. Therefore, the Cabinet has granted approval to draft legislation to adopt the liability management as a strategy for active public debt management.

As such, the proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to publish the Active Liability Management Draft Bill prepared accordingly, in the Government Gazette and subsequently, present it in Parliament, for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
