The Host Country Agreement with regard to the CITES CoP, 18th Summit which Sri Lanka will host in 2019

- Sri Lanka has been a party to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora - CITES from the year 1976. The Cabinet has granted approval to host the 18th Summit of the parties of this Convention in Sri Lanka in the year 2019.

Accordingly, it is due to hold the said Convention from 22nd of May 2019 to 03rd of June 2019 in Sri Lanka and as such, the proposal made by Hon. Gamini Jayawickrema Perera, the Minister of Sustainable Development and Wildlife, to sign a host county agreement pertaining to the Convention which Sri Lanka will host in 2019, between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Secretariat to the above mentioned International Convention, was approved by the Cabinet.
