Development of the Infrastructure facilities of the Uva Wellassa University - Phase 2

- The Uva Wellassa University conducts 13 degree courses relevant to the industrial sector and currently about 2,200 students are engaged in educational activities. The intake of students to the university is being gradually increased and accordingly to coincide with it, the infrastructure facilities too have to be upgraded.

As such, the proposal made by Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Minister of Higher Education and Highways, to commence the construction activities of the library building, auditorium, staff learning unit, the alternative water supply system, students' welfare centre of the Uva Wellassa University and the activities related to the development of the main entrance of the University, in the year 2018 and to call for bids to select suitable contractors for the purpose, was approved by the Cabinet.
