Increasing the Free Postal Facilities granted to the Hon. Members of Parliament and the Members of the Provincial Councils

- The free postal facilities granted to the Hon. Members of Parliament and the Members of the Provincial Councils have not been revised since the year 2007 and now, requests have been made to revise the existing postal charges to coincide with the revision of the postal charges made from time to time.

Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. M.H.A. Haleem, the Minister of Posts, Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs, to increase the limit of the free annual postal facilities offered presently to the Hon. Members of Parliament from Rs.175,000/- up to Rs.350,000/- and to increase the limit of the free annual postal facilities offered presently to the Hon. Members of the Provincial Councils from Rs.24,000/- up to Rs.48,000/-, was approved by the Cabinet.
