Granting of relief for the families who are affected due to the Land acquisition for the construction of Ella Wewa Reservoir

- It has been designed to provide irrigation water for 1,800 acres of lands located in the areas of Panamura, Walalgoda, Hulanda Oya by the Ella Wewa Reservoir proposed to be constructed in the Embilipitiya Divisional Secretary's Division of the Ratnapura District. As identified, 20 families will be displaced due to the acquisition of lands for the construction of this reservoir. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Vijith Vijayamuni Zoysa, the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Management, to make arrangements for granting alternative lands for these displaced families to construct houses and granting them a reasonable compensation, was approved by the Cabinet.
