Providing Police Quarters for Junior Police Officers in the Southern Province

- It has been decided to purchase 192 houses from the 'Nila Sewana' housing project at Wekunagoda in Galle, to provide housing facilities adequately, to the junior police officers in service in the Police Divisions of Galle, Matara, Elpitiya and Tangalle in the Southern Province. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Sagala Ratnayake, the Minister of Law & Order and Southern Development, to secure funds to the amount of Rs.729.6 million for the purpose, was approved by the Cabinet.
