Accreditation of Raw Rubber and Chemical Analysis Laboratory of the Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka
- The income from raw rubber an value added rubber products contribute 8% of the total national export revenue. The responsibility of quality certification of raw rubber used to manufacture rubber related products in Sri Lanka, in compliance with the international standards and advanced technology, introduced to Sri Lanka from time to time, has been entrusted with the 'Raw Rubber and Chemical Analysis Laboratory' of the Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka.

The laboratory which has been established 40 years ago, needs to be modified in compliance with the timely requirements and the international standards. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Navin Dissanayake, the Minister of Plantation Industries, for the modernization of the Raw Rubber and Chemical Analysis Laboratory of the Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka as an accredited laboratory, was approved by the Cabinet.
