Providing compensation to persons who had private ownership of their lands which were damaged due to the landslide and those situated in the high risk zones at Meethotamulla, solid waste dump
- All persons who have expressed their willingness to accept alternative houses out of the house owners evacuated due to the damages and the high risk situation on account of the landslide of the solid waste dump at Meethotamulla, have been provided with such houses and the number of houses so provided is 170.

Consequent to this disaster, action has been taken to acquire lands where the damaged houses are located in the risk zone marked by the National Building Research Organization (NBRO) and 110 such land owners have been identified. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, the Minister of Disaster Management, to pay the assessed value of the lands and houses of those 110 land owners as compensation, was approved by the Cabinet.
