Enactment of Laws for the prevention of touting at the Airport
- Considering the difficulties faced by the air passengers due to various unauthorized touts being present at the common areas of the Bandaranaike International Airport, approval of the Cabinet has been granted to enact laws to control such activities.

Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva, the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, to publish the draft Bill to amend the Civil Aviation Act, No.14 of 2010 in the Government Gazette providing for touting and for loading any baggage to vehicles by unauthorized persons at the Airport as offences under the Civil Aviation Act and for the arrest of such persons committing such offences and to file action in the Magistrate Court having the jurisdiction over the area where the Airport is situated without the sanction of the Attorney General, and subsequently, to present it in Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
