Installation of a Fuel Storage Tank in the Petroleum Storage Terminal of Kolonnawa
- Adequate storage facilities should be provided for each petroleum product in order to maintain a stock of fuel in Sri Lanka sufficient at least for a minimum of 30 days and it has been estimated that an additional storage capacity for 100,000 MT is required. As a preliminary measure, tenders have been called for to install a Petrol Storage Tank of 15,000 m3 at the Kolonnawa Terminal.

Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Arjuna Ranatunga, the Minister of Petroleum Resources Development, to award the contract to install a Fuel Storage Tank with a capacity of 15,000 m3 with Internal Floating Roof at Kolonnawa, to M/s Indo East Engineering & Construction (Lanka) Pte. Ltd., for a sum of Rs.412.78 million excluding tax, in accordance with the recommendations of the Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (CAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
