Regularizing the disposition of state lands and the prevention of encroachment in state lands

- The Cabinet appointed a Committee comprising of the officers of the relevant institutions relating to the subject of Land to study and report facts pertaining to the same, to prepare a formal methodology for regularizing the disposition of state lands and and the prevention of encroachment in state lands.

Accordingly, taking into consideration the recommendations made by the Committee and the facts submitted by H.E. the President and the Ministers of Defence; and Megapolis and Western Development in this regard, the proposal made by Hon. Gayantha Karunathilaka, the Minister of Lands and Parliamentary Reforms, to implement the proposals submitted with regard to further strengthening of the existing methodology for the prevention of encroachment in State Lands and the disposition of State Lands, was approved by the Cabinet.
