Future activities of the Weras Ganga Storm Water Drainage and the Environment Improvement Project

- The drainage system for Storm water has been upgraded in the areas of Boralesgamuwa, Rattanapitiya, Piliyandala, Werahera and Nugegoda through the development activities carried out under the Weras Ganga project which is being implemented with the prime objective of flood control and it has resulted in mitigating the flood threats in the areas.

Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development, to implement the further development activities which have been designed under the project, with the objective of mitigating the flood threat in the areas of Kesbewa, Maharagama, Dehiwala, Rathmalana and Moratuwa Divisional Secretariat Divisions and secure funds required for the purpose, was approved by the Cabinet.
