Purchasing of Lubricating Oil required for the Sapugaskanda Power Plant for the year 2017/2018

- The Sapugaskanda Power Plant of the Ceylon Electricity Board comprises of 4 generators with a capacity of 18 MW and 8 generators of 10 MW. As such, the joint proposal made by Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy and Hon. Arjuna Ranatunga, the Minister of Petroleum Resources Development, to award the tender for the purchasing of 1.1 million of Litres of the types of Lubricating Oil required for the generators for the year 2017/2018 but not provided by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, at a sum of Rs.234.43 each per Litre of Lubricating Oil, to M/s Chevron Lanka PLC, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
