Establishment of the Selacine Television Institute as a State Owned Company Limited by Guarantee

- The fully state owned Selacine Television Institute which commenced in the year 1982 primarily conducts Government Commercial advertising and event management. As such, for the institution to enable build up stability as an effective commercial institute functioning competitively along with the other commercial advertising and event management institutions, the proposal made by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, the Minister of Finance and Mass Media, to establish the Selacine Television Institute under the Companies Act, No.7 of 2007 as a fully state owned company limited by guarantee, was approved by the Cabinet.
