Construction of the Training Centre and other buildings at Thelawala under the Greater Colombo Water & Wastewater Management Improvement Investment Programme

- The objective of the Greater Colombo Water & Wastewater Management Improvement Investment Programme is to regulate the use of non‑revenue water and the improvement and management of the water facilities provided to the general public. Under second phase of the programme, it is proposed to construct the training centre at Thelawala and this training centre is expected to be used to train officers of different levels who are engaged in the regulatory project of non‑revenue water and other officers of the National Water Supply & Drainage Board.

Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of City Planning and Water Supply, to award the contract for the construction of a four storey training centre, five storey hostel building and a canteen to M/s Sierra Construction (Pvt.) Ltd., as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
