Strengthening of the Bilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation between Australia and Sri Lanka

- The diplomatic ties established in 1947 between Sri Lanka and Australia, one of the most developed countries in the world which has achieved high ranks in the global economic indicators. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Malik Samarawickrema, the Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade, to enter into agreements to strengthen the Bilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation by further expanding the economic cooperation between the two countries, was approved by the Cabinet.
