Disposal of Marine Gas Oil (MGO) and CST Fuel Oil Stock in the Tank Farm at the Hambantota Port

- Approval of the Cabinet has been granted previously for calling of tenders for the disposal of 13,500 MT of Marine Gas Oil (MGO) and 628 MT of IFO-380 CST Fuel Oil Stock in the Tank Farm at the Hambantota Port, as the relevant empty tanks have to be handed over expeditiously, in terms of the provisions of the Hambanthota Concessionary Agreement. Accordingly,the proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Samarasinghe, the Minister of Ports and Shipping, to grant the said fuel stock to Interocean Energy (Pvt.) Ltd., for a sum of US$ 3,220,800, as recommended by the Technical Evaluation Committee, as per the competitive bids called accordingly, was approved by the Cabinet.
