Tender for the Transportation and Installation of 50 Diesel Generators, 25 Transformers and 25 Diesel Tanks

- When electricity is generated by the Ceylon Electricity Board, the entire system undergoes a total failure due to generation deficiencies that occur at times and as such, the Board has decided to purchase container stored 50 diesel generators to avert minor blackouts. Similarly, it has also been decided to procure 25 container stored transformers and 25 diesel fuel tanks. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, to authorize the Ceylon Electricity Board, to award the contract of the said tender to M/s Sterling and Wilson Private Ltd., in India, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
