Construction of Stage II of the Accident and Emergency Medical Treatment Unit at the Teaching Hospital, Jaffna
- Since the facilities available for accident and emergency medical treatment for patients are not adequate, activities of Stage I of the construction of accident and emergency medical treatment unit of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital was commenced by utilizing the provisions set apart under budget 2015 and by now, the said activities are being carried out by the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau and simultaneously the construction activities of Stage II also have to be commenced.

Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to award the contract for the construction of Stage II of the Accident and Emergency Medical Treatment Unit of the Teaching Hospital, Jaffna on 'design and built' basis to the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB) and the Central Engineering Services (Pvt.) Ltd. for a sum of Rs.1,359.35 million, with tax, was approved by the Cabinet.
