Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Postal Department of Sri Lanka and other Foreign Postal Institutions relating to the combined issuing of stamps

- It has been decided to issue commemorative stamps in commemoration of 60 years of the start of the diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and Nepal with Sri Lanka and 40 years of diplomatic relations with the Republic of Korea. These commemorative stamps are to be created between Sri Lanka and Nepal based on the historical Buddhist Shrines and between Sri Lanka and the Republic of Korea based on Cultural Dances of the two countries and between Sri Lanka and the Russian Federation based on Cave Temples of Sri Lanka and the similar religious sites in Russia. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. M.H.A. Haleem, the Minister of Posts, Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs, to sign the MoUs between the Postal Department and the relevant Postal Institutions of the respective countries, was approved by the Cabinet.
