Amendments to the Medical Ordinance in order to prepare the Specialist Register

- The maintenance of separate registers of specialists is considered as an important precondition for obtaining of more secure medical care by the general public. Taking this matter into consideration, approval of the Cabinet has been granted to amend the Medical Ordinance to prepare a Specialist Register with the objective of preserving the quality of patient care services. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to publish the Bill to amend the Medical Ordinance prepared accordingly, in the Government Gazette and to present the same in Parliament thereafter, for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
